I fly radio control models, and when I saw the Scorpion in the movie Avatar Gunship I found myself thinking: “It would be so nice to have a radio control model of this aircraft unique.” I was on Amazon for one day and checked to see if it was available a 3D model to be used as a reference to the measures taken by, and certainly there was, so I bought. With the Free Shipping option came in about 5 days, which was actually faster than I expected. There is a bit ‘assembly required on this model because it is in about 11 pieces, and everything just clicks together. The assembly is very simple and consists of connecting the tail section, the two rotor blades, the two main wings, the two front wings and the landing skids. One cool feature I did not know is about the fact that two of the missles on the main belt are spring loaded and actually shoot when you press a release button! They only go about 6 feet, but it’s still a nice effect.The detail of the model is very good, and for my purposes, is a perfect rendering of the Scorpion gunship that now sits proudly on a corner of my desk at work. Now I just need to design a large radio-controlled flying model of it in reality such as movies!
